Hang Your Treasures

We love to create gallery walls for our clients!

Here’s why:

  • It’s a great way to fill a large empty wall without having to purchase one oversized piece of art.
  • It’s a beautiful way to display a collection or family heirlooms that you don’t know what to do with (remember, it’s quite easy to reframe picture which will give them an entirely fresh look).
  • We strongly believe that a home should be a reflection of its inhabitants and this is a fantastic way to show off who you are and the things that you love where they are records, family portraits, or 18th century oil paintings.

If you’re not working with a designer and feel intimidated by the process of selecting/spacing/hanging, there are several apps like WALLERY and Artrooms that can help.

Here’s some inspiration:

Le Zinc, a restaurant in Tribeca, circa 2003, was my original gallery wall inspiration. These art posters were unframed and glued directly onto the plaster walls.  So simple but so gorgeous!  Photographed by David Leventi.

This wall in Restaurante Malamen in Polanco, Mexico displays over a hundred different portraits by the same artist, in the same frames, in the same size.  The result is a grid-like continuum of abstract faces.

The dining area in the NYC apartment of Brian Atwood and Dr. Jake Deutsch features Atwood’s photograph collection which features works from Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts, and Bob Richardson.

This white kitchen, designed by the Dutch design firm, Stijlvast, is brought to life with bright and charming posters, photographs, and other artworks.

Designed by En Luxe for a private residence in Los Angeles, this dining room wall feature a floor to ceiling display of the owner’s collection of exhibition posters.

This masculine-chic wall displays a tightly spaced homage to tribal photography, natural objects all with a sense of humor and some bourgeoisie bags beneath.

From the LA office of designer and fashionista, Rachel Zoe, some creative inspiration in the way of fashion photography and drawings.
